在攝影之前:視覺藝術家的影像思維

Before Photograph: Three Visual artists’ Concepts about the Image

在攝影之前系列座談邀請三位視覺藝術家於攝影博物館發表他們的藝術創作與其思維。這三位藝術家的作品有意或無意地涉及攝影這個工具。在攝影之前意味站立在攝影的前面觀看攝影,攝影技術的前思維,以及向攝影背後的文化意識前進。

 


 

3/13 鈴木貴彥

鈴木貴彥於2006年開始的2.5D攝影模型,試圖提出攝影作為記憶媒體的另類途徑。他的的全球商店計畫(global store .info)則是利用數位相機的拍攝,經緯度的座標,數位網路的系統將各地小腳落中的商店如廣告一般地,進入藝術傳播的系統。他的作品觸及影像傳播中攝影的操作以及全球/在地化的問題。

 

3/20 高重黎

高重黎的實驗短片與影像裝置,透過改造與誤用相機,試圖翻轉這西方人的玩意兒。高重黎從影像的工具史出發,一方面向攝影史前史挺進,一方面重建屬於自己的影像敘述歷程。3/20的發表高重黎將它看作是一次作品的發表,將以【攝影/表演】的方式呈現。

 

3/27 吳季璁

季璁是透過拆解影像工具的技術黑盒子、干擾工具的偽裝透明性,以媒體藝術的語言對影像工具提出另類的思考。有趣的是,吳季璁從思考影像觀察技術出發,最後總是以幽微的影像細節總結,微妙地指向東方水墨之「氣韻生動」。

[Before Photography] means to see photography in front of the photography, to reach the technological culture behind photography, and to access to the cultural ideology of the photography. [Before Photography] is a series of talks, in which we invited three contemporary artists, whose arts concern about the tool: camera consciously or unconsciously. They will present their art and share their thinking about the topic

 

3/13  Takahiko Suzuki  

Among the metaphor of photography, memory is the most common; however Suzuki’s   2.5 model offers an alternative way for the media of memory. In his Global Store Project, he uses digital camera, system of latitude and longitude, and the internet to advertise the small shops in nook. This project deals with how image is manipulated in the process of globalization as well as the issue of globalization and localization.

 

3/20 Kao, Chung-li

Kao Chung-li’s experimental film and Image-installation tried to turn the western tool camera through reconstructing the tool .He stared from re-visiting  photography’s history, and ended with a constructing of his own version of the narration. Kao’s talk on March 20th will be a [photography/performance].

 

3/27 Wu Chi-Tsung  

Wu Chi-Tsung dismantles the technological black-box of the visual tool,, that interferes with the tools’ phony transparency to provide image tools with alternative concepts through the language of media art. The interesting thing is that Wu starts from reflecting on image observation technology, and invariably winds up summarizing through the details of profound images, cleverly directing us to the “spirited artistic concepts” of Chinese ink paintings.
