The Womb & The Diamond 《兩界》-- 蔡佳葳個展
The Womb & The Diamond is a solo exhibition by Taipei-based artist Charwei Tsai and curated by Dr. Jau-lan Guo at Vital Space and Art Corner at National Taichung Theatre in Taiwan. This exhibition presents a series of newly commissioned projects inspired by personal pilgrimages that the artist took in the past three years. Through these journeys, Tsai traces the wisdom tradition of tantra that is stemmed in fifth century India and through the medieval trade routes across western China, it reached furthest east to Japan, south to Java, and north to Mongolia.

如果一手的體驗是不可能的話,到底什麼是真正可以被認識的?
去年暑假,北美館的「台灣製造 製造台灣」在9月底剛下檔,關美館的「啟視錄」便在眾人殷切的期待下,以1983年--其實也是北美館成立的前一年--作為起始點,回溯台灣第一代的錄像藝術家作品; 這兩展一前一後把有關藝術的歷史敘述問題,拉到當代視野的最前線。「啟視錄」把一些我們來不及一手體驗,或者僅能從一些文章報導或紀錄影片中得知的作品,「重現」觀眾眼前。這個野心勃勃的展覽,應該是去年最令人難忘,也是留給我們諸多思考藝術敘述面向的重要展覽。展覽的製作必定面臨影片必須轉檔、舊形制的器材如何以新型式的器材轉換的問題。什麼才是重製作品時必須被優先掌握的?影像內容?抑或是影像裝置的材質性?高重黎的作品在這個展覽中對於重置所著重的面向,顯然不在影片內容,也不再器材的模擬,而是展場中的透過裝置所獲致對影像於展場中影像的關係性的思辨,這使得他的作品與照片中的舊作在外觀上面,並不相同;

It Park Gallery , an alternative space, used to be an art site any international curator visiting Taipei must visit. (http://www.itpark.com.tw/) Many active 80s artists had their solo show or debut show here in It Park Gallery. Almost each of Yuan Goang-Ming’s solo show happened here in IT Park Gallery.
Near IT Park Gallery, only 200 meter away, there are one artist-run space and one Indian gallery. The artist-run space is VT Gallery, which is Lounge Bar like gallery. Run by 8 contemporary artists including Yao Jui Chung and Darken. They use to be the CEO of the Gallery. (http://www.vtartsalon.com/) You can find young artist debut show here.

Takahiko Suzuki
Takahiko Suzuki (鈴木貴彥)is Taipei based artist, who is coming from Japan. His newly show in his own artist-run space One-year Gallery turned the gallery “inside in”, not only put his 2.5D project forward but also give the location of one-year gallery a symbolically

至少有五年了吧!我覺得台灣藝壇一直在等待的是,應該是一股來自學院之外的年輕創作生命力。但是很可惜,十個浮出檯面的當中有九個不是北藝大就是南藝大,要不則是某藝研所。這當然跟我們所關注的平台選項有關,台北獎、高雄獎、文建會在藝博會的新人推薦特區、數位藝術獎項…。
至少有五年了吧!我覺得台灣藝壇一直在等待的是,應該是一股來自學院之外的年輕創作生命力。但是很可惜,十個浮出檯面的當中有九個不是北藝大就是南藝大,要不則是某藝研所。這當然跟我們所關注的平台選項有關,台北獎、高雄獎、文建會在藝博會的新人推薦特區、數位藝術獎項…。
